Coloring a brighter tomorrow!

This month, as part of their Greek Week, fraternities and sororities at YSU held the second annual "Stuff the Bus" for United Way in which they collected toys for children in need this holiday season.

 

A total of 14 bags of toys, clothes and games were collected for a total of 1,735 items.

As of today, $1,222,053 or 49% of our 2010 Campaign Goal has been raised.  Look for our thermometers in the community!

YSU Panhellenic The YSU Panhellenic Council presented our United Way with a check for $1,000.  The group raised the money through a candy bar fundraiser.

  

The YSU Interfraternity Council also presented our United Way with a check for $1,000. 

  

In addition, the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity held a one day raffle fundraiser and raised $223.15 for the United Way Campaign.

 

Student participation continues to be a contributing factor to the success of the university's campaign.

All money raised by student organizations goes toward the YSU United Way Campaign.  This year's goal is to raise $62,000 through the support of faculty, staff and students.

The United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley seeks to be the driving force behind sustained improvement in the lives of all our citizens through initiatives that promote education, income and health. Currently twenty seven nonprofit agencies are partners with the United Way of the Youngstown and Mahoning Valley and through that partnership; the United Way distributes funds for over seventy programs that the partnering agencies oversee. In addition to funding our agencies, we have created several initiatives that are having a positive impact on the community.
